Hundreds of residents of Al-Suwayda and its countryside participated today in a central demonstration at Al-Karama Square in the city center, offering condolences to the family and comrades of the leader of "Al-Jabal Brigade", Marhej Al-Germani, who was assassinated inside his home on July 17.

The demonstrators chanted "The martyr's blood cries for justice" and "Death spares no one", holding the Damascus government responsible for his killing. They emphasized the peaceful nature of their movement, demanding political change and the implementation of Resolution 2254.

Family and comrades of the leader of "Al-Jabal Brigade" received condolences from the demonstrators at the entrance of Al-Karama Square.

After the demonstrators left, there was an explosion of a sound bomb in the vicinity of Al-Karama Square, reportedly thrown by unidentified individuals according to eyewitnesses.

Al-Suwayda has been witnessing daily protests for about a year, initially due to deteriorating economic conditions. These protests have evolved, with demands for freedom, "toppling the regime", releasing detainees, and implementing international resolutions related to the Syrian crisis.
