Virtual communication platforms circulated a picture and videos of the India protests that have been going on for days, against the backdrop of the killing of a doctor after being sexually assaulted, showing protesters gathered around the phrase "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (woman, life, freedom).

The image and video garnered a high percentage of views and shares on virtual communication platforms, especially on the "X" platform and "YouTube".

The slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî", coined by leader Abdullah Ocalan, resonated around the world after protests erupted in E. Kurdistan and Iran following the killing of young Kurdish woman Gina Amini by the "morality police" on the pretext of not adhering to the dress code in Iran.

The Indian street shook after the murder of a 31-year-old doctor for being sexually assaulted, as her body was found with several wounds in a public hospital, in the eastern India city of Calcutta. As a result, widespread protests nationwide from doctors demanding justice for the doctor and improved security measures.

As a kind of pressure on the Indian authorities, doctors in India announced a strike, through a statement issued by the Indian Medical Association, stating that elective medical procedures and external consultations would not be available during the strike period in the world's most populous country.

Local women journalists commented on this crime and the protests, saying: "The city has never seen protests like this before."

Sexual violence against women is widespread in India, with about 90 cases of sexual assault reported daily in 2022, the largest in the world with a population of 1.4 billion people, and the medical association conducted a study that revealed that 75% experienced violence in India.
