Today, Saturday, the city of As-Suwayda witnessed the city's residents going out to al-Karama Square in a new protest, a full year after the protests that the city witnessed since August of last year 2023, and despite the passing of a year, their demands for achieving change, releasing detainees, and implementing Resolution 2,254 still stand.

The demonstrators continue their insistence on achieving these demands, carrying banners that read "We are patient for a year for victory.. and we do not endure a day for oppression."

Despite the Damascus government's continuous attempts to suppress voices demanding rights through daily protests in al-Karama Square (formerly known as Al-Sir Square), the movement has continued without interruption.

Yesterday, al-Karama Square witnessed a massive demonstration in which hundreds of citizens from the city of As-Suwayda and its countryside participated, renewing their emphasis on their demands, chanting slogans against the Damascus government and demanding its overthrow and the peaceful transfer of power.

Dozens of people from neighboring towns and villages also flocked to the city of As-Suwayda to participate in this central demonstration, which is usually held every Friday with greater momentum compared to other daily demonstrations that the region witnesses throughout the week.
