Dismantling a cell of ISIS mercenaries in Raqqa
The Syrian Democratic Forces announced the dismantling of a cell of ISIS mercenaries in the city of Raqqa and the arrest of 5 mercenaries, during two security operations.
The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces stated that the military operations teams (TOL) affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces carried out two security operations on the second and fourth of August that aimed to dismantle a cell of ISIS mercenaries in the city of Raqqa.
During the two operations, 5 members of an ISIS mercenary cell were arrested, and quantities of weapons, ammunition and military equipment were confiscated.
According to the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces, "the dismantled terrorist cell was working to target the tankers that provide fuel to the city, in addition to carrying out its terrorist operations targeting our forces and civilian institutions as well. The cell carried out 4 terrorist operations against fuel tankers on the road between the cities of Raqqa and Tabqa, and in one of them the driver of one of the tankers was killed. It also carried out an operation against the internal security forces in the "Rashid Farm" market in the city of Raqqa.
