Lebanese authorities have evacuated the town of Kafarhazir in northern Lebanon of Syrian refugees, citing a lack of official documents, according to the state-run National News Agency.

The agency reported that the evacuation took place after security authorities warned the refugees that they must evacuate their homes. The reasons for the evacuation, it said, were that the refugees did not possess the appropriate legal documents.

The number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon is estimated to be around two million. Lebanese officials have urged the international community to resettle the refugees in other countries or help them return to Syria.

Syrian refugees in Lebanon have faced a number of challenges, including discrimination and violence.
