Executive Council affirms support for Deir ez-Zor Canton

The Executive Council discussed security, service, health, and educational conditions and reaffirmed its support for Deir ez-Zor in confronting all forms of aggression and challenges, and in overcoming obstacles hindering project implementation in the region.

The Presidential Body of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria held a meeting with the co-chairs of the Autonomous Administration’s bodies and offices and the co-chair of the executive councils in the seven cantons.

During the meeting, they reviewed the previous month's activities, assessed the organizational status of the Autonomous Administration's bodies and offices, and discussed the difficulties and challenges they faced.

The Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Evin Swed, provided a summary of the Executive Council’s accomplishments for July and addressed some issues faced by the council’s bodies and offices.

The Co-Chair of the Executive Council, Hussein Osman, emphasized the need to improve customs, economic, and financial policies to support local production in large and medium-sized factories, and to rely on the region’s self-production.

The Co-Chair of the General Directorate of Oil and Fuel, Abir Khaled, noted that the distribution of heating fuel is progressing well, with 436,000 families benefiting, representing 40%. She also confirmed the ongoing support for electricity generators and their supply with diesel.

The Co-Chair of the Education Body, Samira Haj Ali, confirmed the committee’s readiness for the new school year, including school preparation, provision of textbooks, and heating materials.

The meeting also highlighted the need to advance the health sector, intensify monitoring of health institutions, and provide medical supplies in cantons facing external aggression. There was a strong focus on service projects to improve citizens' lives and on security issues, emphasizing the need for strict measures to ensure internal stability within the region.

The Co-Chair of the Defense Body, Zaidan Al-Asi, confirmed that the military forces are prepared to repel and deter any attack or aggression against the North and East Syria region, asserting that defending the land is the right of its people.

The meeting concluded with several outcomes:

- Support for Deir ez-Zor in addressing all forms of aggression and challenges.

- Monitoring the service situation and 2024 budget projects, and overcoming obstacles hindering project completion.

- Presenting investment projects for 2025.

- Ensuring the stability of North and East Syria and directing internal security forces to eliminate unauthorized weapons and random gun carrying to prevent security lapses in the region.
