K. Star beings March 8 activities with various cultural and artistic events in Aleppo
The Kongra Star in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo has announced its program of activities for International Women's Day on March 8, which will include a variety of cultural and artistic events.

In the presence of many women from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo, the Kongra Star announced the program for International Women's Day (March 8) for the year 2025, under the slogan: "With the Philosophy of Woman, Life, and Freedom... Towards a Democratic Syria."
In a statement, the Kongra Star mentioned that its activities started today (March 1) and will continue until the 8th of the same month. The statement was read by Fahima Hamo, a member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Aleppo.
The statement added: "Thanks to the struggle and resistance of women in the Rojava Revolution, we welcome March 8 after ensuring the well-being of leader Abdullah Ocalan, the proponent of the ideology of women's liberation. On this occasion, we extend our congratulations to him and to all women in North and East Syria, Syria, and the world."
The statement highlighted the continued exposure of women to killing, abduction, and assault at the hands of the dominant patriarchal system, noting that the new system in Syria is attempting to marginalize and exclude women from decision-making processes. It emphasized: "We will not accept this mentality, and we will work to establish the principles of justice and equality."
The statement affirmed that March 8 is the result of a long struggle waged by women against oppression and injustice, from Clara Zetkin, Leyla Qasim, Sakine Cansiz, and Sema Yuce, to Arin Mirkan, Zeyneb Saroxan, Nesrn Derwish, and Erjin Kobani, along with thousands of other resistant women who have written heroic epics and made history with the spirit of the free woman.
In its statement, the Kongra Star pledged to continue following in the footsteps of the martyrs of freedom and to achieve the goals and aspirations of Syrian women for a peaceful life, reinforcing the philosophy of "Woman, Life, Freedom" to build a democratic society.
The statement also revealed several planned activities, including hanging banners on main streets, delivering lectures, screening a documentary, visiting military points, organizing meetings and workshops in Aleppo, distributing brochures, holding cultural evenings and art exhibitions, as well as organizing marches and distributing flowers to women.
