Suspect arrested in shooting incident in al-Hasakah

Internal Security Forces arrested one of the suspects in a shooting incident targeting a vehicle following a dispute between several individuals in the Tal Hajar neighborhood of al-Hasakah. Weapons and ammunition were seized, while efforts are continuing to apprehend another individual.

The incident took place in the Tal Hajar neighborhood of al-Hasakah on Tuesday evening, September 15, when a vehicle was targeted by gunfire following a dispute involving several individuals. The Internal Security Forces arrested one of the wanted suspects in connection with the incident and seized weapons and ammunition believed to be linked to it, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect.

The General Command of the Internal Security Forces in al-Hasakah Governorate stated that emergency patrols, in coordination with the Criminal Investigations Department and the Crime Scene Unit, proceeded to the location. The area was secured and examined, and evidence was collected. Follow-up operations subsequently led to the arrest of one of the wanted individuals in connection with the incident, while efforts to apprehend another continue.

The authorities also reported the seizure of weapons and ammunition connected to the incident, including a Kalashnikov rifle, magazines, and a quantity of ammunition, in addition to several projectiles found at the scene.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred after one individual assaulted the home of another person. Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibility.

The General Command confirmed that legal measures would be taken against anyone found responsible and that those individuals would be referred to the relevant authorities. It also urged citizens not to circulate unverified information and to rely on the official channels of the Internal Security Forces in al-Hasakah Governorate.
