Third of its kind: Guerrilla forces down another Turkish occupation helicopter
Fighters from the People's Defense Forces (HPG) have downed another helicopter belonging to the Turkish occupation army in the Medya defense areas in S. Kurdistan, raising the total number of Turkish occupation helicopters downed to 3 in the last 15 days.
Journalist Kurtay Serhat reported the downing of a new Turkish helicopter in the Medya defense areas, S. Kurdistan by the People's Defense Forces during an interview on Haber TV.
According to the information attributed by Serhat to local sources and the Guerrilla forces, a Sikorsky helicopter attempted to land a number of Turkish occupation soldiers at the Martyr Sheikh Hill in Khakorki around 21:00-22:00 on July 14.
During this time, the Guerrillas targeted the helicopter, forcing it to leave the area before it could drop off the soldiers.
Serhat also revealed, citing other local sources, that a helicopter had crashed in the Black Valley area on the outskirts of Şemzinan in Golmerak.
The same sources reported that the Turkish occupation forces bombarded the Black Valley on the same day and cut off access to the area.
With this latest helicopter, the total number of Turkish occupation helicopters downed by the People's Defense Forces in the past 15 days reaches 3.
