Notables from Afrin and al-Shahba canton condemned the Damascus government's siege of al-Shahba and the silence of humanitarian organizations regarding it.

In this context, the notable of the Abu Khamisi clan, Ali Khamisi, said: “We were displaced from our regions due to the attacks of the Turkish occupation state, and the siege of the Damascus government now aims to break our will, but we will stand and resist until the end.”

Ali Khamisi continued: "Instead of resolving the crisis, it is deepening it further by suffocating the Syrians, imposing a siege on them, and adopting a policy of starvation against them. Its goal is to break our will and displace us."

Ali Khamisi concluded his speech by saying: “We will never be deceived by the siege policy, and we will not abandon our resistance, and human rights organizations must not remain silent so that this siege policy can be put to an end.”

The notable of the Dembli clan, Hajj Nadim Sadiq, pointed out that the displaced people of Afrin have been living in camps for 6 years and the Damascus government has imposed a stifling siege on them. He continued: “It heralds a humanitarian catastrophe, as the Turkish state is killing and the Damascus government is besieging, and all these practices are taking place at the expense of the blood of the Syrian people ".

Nadim Sadiq concluded his speech by saying: “We will not remain silent, and we will seek to end this siege.”

Damascus government forces have been imposing an unjust siege on Afrin, al-Shahba cantons, Sheikh Maqsoud, and al-Ashrafieh neighborhoods for more than 6 years, preventing the entry of basic materials, medicines, and fuel into the region.
