A source from inside occupied Afrin reported that the “border guards” kidnapped six citizens on Tuesday, 7/16/2024, near the village of Kundi Kurdo/Aliyah in the city of Janders in occupied Afrin. Three of them are from occupied Afrin and the rest are from other Syrian cities.

The source mentioned the names of the kidnapped: Haitham Saeed bin Nazmi, a resident of Janders (39 years old), Hikmat Hannan bin Jamil (43 years old), and Muhammad Othman bin Mustafa, from the city of Mobata. Muhammad Zaid (40 years old) from Daraa, Muhammad al-Absi from Daraa, and Hussam al-Nahhas from Homs.

It pointed out that Zaid, al-Absi and al-Nahhas were released two days later, after paying a fine of $600, while the other three were kept in detention.

Kidnappings of citizens continue in occupied Afrin, with or without charges, for the purpose of obtaining financial ransom from their families.
