The Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdistan Community System (KCK) issued a statement on the current events in Kirkuk and Deir ez-Zor.

The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) said: “After chaos spread in both Iraq and Syria after ISIS attacks, and they are still unable to provide stability, they are being dragged towards tension and a new war in Kirkuk and Deir ez-Zor.”

It is clear that the tension occurring in both Kirkuk and Deir ez-Zor did not occur on its own, as this tension has a direct relationship to the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who visited both Baghdad and Hewler on August 22-24, and the statements of both Tayyip Erdogan and Hakan Fidan in both arenas, highlighting at the same time the intentions and expectations of the Turkish state.”

The statement of the Foreign Relations Committee of (KCK) continued by saying:

Hakan Fidan has claimed that the war in Kirkuk, which led to the death of 4 people, was launched by the PKK. In turn, Erdogan said upon his return from Russia regarding the war and tension in Deir ez-Zor that it is a very good and timely step, and in this way he showed his support.” For the mercenaries who started this war.

The Turkish state violates the right of sovereignty of both countries in both Iraq and Syria as well, and it is at the level of occupation in both countries, and seeks, like the occupation of Cyprus in 1974, to extend its occupation in Iraq and Syria and make it sustainable in this way, and is led by Hakan Fidan, who was implementing all kinds dirty war methods and all kinds of provocations, especially executions and massacres inside the country, during his period as head of the Turkish Intelligence Service (MÎT), these dirty actions are now in the name of the Foreign Minister under the name of diplomacy.

The Turkmen Front and the Kurdistan Democratic Party work directly for Turkish intelligence

Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, Assyrian-Syriacs, and Armenians have been living together in Kirkuk for hundreds of years. Both Hakan Fidan and Tayyip Erdogan declared Kirkuk as “the home of the Turks” and “the city of the Turkmen.” They exploit the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Barzani family to hide their occupation and colonial goals. In recent years, Kirkuk has been made a center for the Turkish Intelligence Service ((MÎT) and a center for espionage and provocations, legitimizing the occupation and positioning in Southern Kurdistan. Kirkuk, which includes many different ethnicities, beliefs and cultures from ancient times of history to the present day, is intended to be a new den of the war and tension by Turkey.

Both the Turkmen Front and the Kurdistan Democratic Party administration work directly for Ankara and the Turkish Intelligence Service ((MÎT), and are trying to legitimize the dictatorship of Erdogan and the Turkish state, which has no credibility with Iraqi society and the Baghdad government.

Turkey is also trying to put pressure on the administration of Baghdad through some Turkmen figures who turned them into mercenaries and placed them under its control, as well as with the support of the Barzani family. Kirkuk is considered an unparalleled rich city and has life experience with its history, social reality and diversity. Therefore, the fascist Turkish state should not be allowed to the occupier and its accomplices have transformed such a unique city into an arena for sharing investment and management and an instrument of power. The peoples of Kirkuk must take a stand against all types of external interference and against the occupation policies that seek to drag peoples into fighting among themselves. They must strengthen the foundations of their co- existence and administration, organize themselves and engage in... The struggle to make Kirkuk a citadel of peace, brotherhood, democracy and freedom.

The division of Kirkuk on the basis of land, neighborhoods, beliefs, ethnicities, population, and population size into an arena for bargaining over oil revenue accounts means that Kirkuk, and thus Iraq, will always live in crisis.

Peoples of different races, beliefs and religions, women and youth in Kirkuk have the ability to build a coexistence and live together in Kirkuk, and show the will to live in peace and stability and manage themselves.

Based on this basis, the only work that anyone who wants peace and stability in Kirkuk must do is to oppose the occupation of the Turkish state in Iraq, and 90 Turkish outposts present on Iraqi territory must be expelled, as Turkey has made Hewler its backyard. Therefore, a position must be taken in the face of Turkey’s economic, cultural and political hegemony over Southern Kurdistan, and after the end of the occupation of the dictatorship of Erdogan and the Turkish state on the lands of Iraq and its removal from Kirkuk, then peace will prevail in Iraq, Kirkuk, Syria and Libya, as well as in all parts of the Middle East.
