During an interview with ANHA Agency  Hassan Koçer spoke about the allegations of rapprochement between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation state. He also evaluated the protests within Turkish-held territories in Syria.

Koçer pointed out that since the beginning of the crisis in Syria, the Turkish occupation state portrayed Bashar al-Assad as a dictator, and said: “ The goal is to organize the opposition according to Turkey's interests, in coordination with ISIS and the Al-Nusra Front in order to complicate the Syrian crisis."

Koçer stressed that the people of NE Syria  defended Syria and the Damascus government through resistance of ISIS attacks. However, after the defeat of ISIS mercenaries, the Turkish occupation state directly intervened and occupied Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spi.

Consequently, Turkey's plots were failed. Therefore, it changed its policy and now Turkey wants to implement its projects through the rapprochement with the  Damascus government.

“Since the beginning of the crisis, we have informed all parties, especially those in the occupied territories that Turkey is exploiting you for its own interests. Let us, as Syrians, solve our problem. Do not be fooled by the Turkish state’s conspiracy. So  the truth of what we said has become clear" Koçer added.

Koçer made the point clear that the Turkish occupation state now wants to deceive the Damascus government as well, and said “The Damascus government’s initial position was good and patriotic, "No negotiations without withdrawing Turkish forces from Syrian territories." However, if it accepts something other than this condition, the Damascus government will legitimize the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands.

Hassan Koçer stated that the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria hopes that Damascus will not agree with Ankara because Turkey will exploit the agreement in order to launch an attack on NE Syria and this will threaten the unity of Syria and lead to a major division.

Koçer explained  " In my opinion, an agreement was reached between Damascus and Ankara, but the level of this agreement is not clear. Even before now, they had relations at the security level. It is said that Iraq wants to mediate between them to restore relations between the two countries. This is not true. There are agreements between the two countries. But we hope that these agreements will not be at the expense of the Syrian people and their territorial integrity."

Hassan Koçer recalled the road map of the Autonomous Administration in April 2023 to resolve the Syrian crisis, and said that they are still committed to it until now. Pointing out their ability to solve the country's economic, political and security problems together.

He noted that the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria continues to communicate with Damascus in order to reach any agreement that achieves stability in the region. That is why the Damascus government must abandon viewing the Autonomous Administration as a threat to Syria, stressing, “We do not pose any threat." We have said before that we are ready to liberate the occupied Syrian areas with assistance of the Syrian army.”

Hassan Koçer stated that any agreement against the regions of NE Syria will be met with popular resistance.

He stressed that the Democratic Autonomous Administration is ready for any dialogue with all parties, especially the Damascus government to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Hassan Koçer, the Deputy Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, said that the Turkish occupation state has destroyed every part of Syria, so the Syrian people must take a stand against its plots."
