In his speech during the meeting, al-Sudani said, the visit of the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, to Baghdad is important. We have come a long way in building confidence between the governments of the center and the region, and we have overcome inherited problems.

He added, that it was emphasized that Iraq's sovereignty and security should be kept away from the arena of conflict and that its positions be maintained regarding just issues.

The two sides did not address the attacks of the Turkish occupation state against the sovereignty of Iraq and Southern Kurdistan, which have been carrying out airstrikes and military incursions on a daily basis. Turkey has also built dozens of military bases in northern Iraq.
