On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 23, a UAV of the Turkish occupation army targeted a car belonging to JIN TV near the junction of Tal Shair village on Qamishlo-Amouda road. This led to the death of the channel's member Najm al-Din Faisal Haj Sinan, and the injury of journalist Dalila Akid, who works for the channel.

In this regard, Dicle Ito, a member of the board of directors of JIN TV, spoke to the Committee to Protect Journalists, and said: "Dalila Akid underwent surgery and was in the intensive care unit until Friday."

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic drone attack that killed the driver, Najm al-Din Faisal, and injured the journalist, Dalilah Akid, while they were working in northeastern Syria," said Sherif Mansour, Middle East and North Africa Program Coordinator for the Committee to Protect Journalists.

He added, "The Turkish authorities must launch a prompt investigation into this attack, determine who was responsible and whether the reporting team was targeted, and hold the perpetrators accountable."

CPJ emailed the Turkish president's office for comment, but did not receive a response, and CPJ was unable to find any contact information for the Turkish Ministry of Defense or any comments it made regarding the attack.

CPJ said on Friday that "Turkish authorities should conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the recent drone attack in Syria, which resulted in the death of a JIN TV worker and injury of a reporter, determine whether they were targeted because of their work, and bring the perpetrators to justice" .
