Presidential election runoff begins in Turkey

Voting for the presidential elections began at 08:00 this morning. Where more than 60 million voters are expected to go to the polls. The voting process will end throughout Turkey at 17:00 pm today.

Elections are held in 973 districts in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey through 191 thousand ballot boxes.

About 3 million voters outside the country cast their votes in 73 countries and 151 foreign representations, and that ended on May 24, and those who have not yet voted can go today to the customs gates to vote.

Candidates

The second round of the Turkish presidential elections will be held today, Sunday (May 28), in which the two candidates who achieved the largest percentage of votes in the first round, namely Erdogan and Kılıçdaroğlu, will compete.

YSK announced, in a statement, the official and final results of the presidential elections on May 19, and according to these results; Recep Tayyip Erdogan scored 49.24 percent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu scored 45.07 percent, and Sinan Ogan scored 5.28 percent.

No presidential candidate was able to win the presidential elections in its first round, as none of them achieved (50 + 1 percent) of the votes, and it was decided to hold a second round of elections.

However, the percentage (50 + 1 percent) is not taken into account in the second round, and the candidate who gets the largest percentage of votes wins the elections.

The parliamentary and presidential elections in Bakur Kurdistan (Northern Kurdistan) and Turkey were held on May 14, and the candidate of the People's Alliance, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, and the candidate of the People's Alliance, competed in the (first round). Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the candidate of Ata Sinan Ogan, while the head of the Balad Party, Muharrem Ince, withdrew just 3 days before the elections (May 11).
