The US State Department  said in a statement that Jeffrey will start today from Turkey an external tour that includes Germany and countries in the Middle East to be joined later by the American Special Envoy to Syria Joel Reperne.

The statement pointed out that Jeffrey will meet in Ankara with high-ranking Turkish officials to discuss issues of mutual interest, including the advancement of al-Assad regime with support from Russia in Idlib region, the current conditions in northeastern Syria, and the implementation of Resolution 2254 of the International Security Council about the settlement of the Syrian crisis and the continued efforts of the international coalition to ensure the steady defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
