The Women's Bureau of the Syria's Democratic Council(MSD) held a meeting in al-Hasakah city on the occasion of the World Day for Combating the Violence Against Women. They stressed the need to reduce injustice against women and to empower their role in society.

The meeting, which was held at the Culture and Art Center in al-Mufti Neighborhood in al-Hasakah, attended by dozens of women and members of civil society organizations.

During the meeting, which began with holding a minute of silence, the administrator in the Organizational Office of MSD, Rehab George, and the co-chair of the Executive Council of MSD, Nujin Yousef, spoke on the World Day for Combating Violence Against Women.

They also explained that Rojava Revolution created the opportunity for women to express their opinion and highlight their leading role in the society.

The meeting also read excerpts from the arguments of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, which addresses the role of women.

The speakers also affirmed that the women's freedom related to the freedom of Ocalan, who devoted his struggle to women's cause and liberation and they added "the struggle of women in all squares must be based on the freedom of Ocalan."

The meeting concluded with a discussion between the attendees and the meeting divan on the struggle of women.
