Directorate of Tourism and Antiquities' Protection found artifacts in Ja'aber citadel

The Directorate of Tourism and Antiquities' Protection in al-Tabqa city found three artifacts inside Ja'aber citadel. The artifacts were found in three bases of a grain mill in the citadel.

AL-TABQA - The historical citadel, which lies on the left bank of the Euphrates, remains its stones and minarets to this day, telling the stories of its greatness.

The antiquities were moved to the castle museum to ascertain later which era existed.

 Ja'aber Museum, which has become empty after the looting carried out by mercenaries of the so-called former Free Army, no longer contains only these mills, which was found after it was in earlier periods full of statues and artifacts that tell the stories of the inhabitants of Ja'aber citadel. Its monuments and the destruction of statues carved on it thousands of years ago.

The co-chair of Directorate of Tourism and Antiquities' Protection in al-Tabqa city Njoud Bayer said "We were informed of the existence of three artifacts in the citadel, mills on the roof of Ja'abar's citadel and in coordination with the municipality was detected and sent workers from the environment to remove them from the roof of the citadel to the museum inside the castle.

Today the Directorate of Tourism and Antiquities' Protection in is trying to preserve the remains of the citadel's monuments .
