Syrian Parties: Any conference without full representation hold no value
A coalition of 35 Syrian political, social, and women's organizations issued a joint statement regarding the so-called National Dialogue Conference scheduled to take place in Damascus.

The signatories criticized the process of selecting participants, stating that the committee in charge—formed unilaterally—has handpicked individuals and presented them as legitimate representatives of Syria's diverse regions. They argued that this approach mirrors the tactics of the former Syrian regime and does not serve the country's future.
The statement emphasized that a genuine national dialogue must be inclusive, bringing together representatives of all political blocs, parties, social forces, and civil organizations to ensure meaningful discussions. Otherwise, the conference and its outcomes would be devoid of legitimacy or value.
The statement read: "The preparatory committee for the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, appointed by the transitional government, has invited a large number of individuals to attend what it calls a national dialogue conference in Damascus. This effort seeks to legitimize itself by portraying these attendees as representatives of the Syrian people, when in reality, they represent no one but themselves.
This unilateral selection process, presenting chosen individuals as legitimate representatives of Syria's diverse regions, is nothing more than a continuation of the manipulative tactics of the former Syrian regime. Such an approach does not contribute to building Syria’s future as its people aspire.
In countries that have experienced crises similar to Syria's, solutions are reached through truly national gatherings that bring together representatives of all communities and political forces, including those representing the country's ethnic and sectarian diversity. These meetings establish constitutional principles that protect the rights of all groups, followed by a broad-based national conference for public endorsement. The transitional government's approach does not align with these principles.
Every region in Syria has its legitimate representatives from various communities and political groups, including both civil and military forces.
As the undersigned political and social forces, we reaffirm that a real national dialogue conference must be inclusive, incorporating representatives from all components, political blocs, active parties, and civil and social organizations. Only through such an approach can a meaningful and effective dialogue take place that reflects the will of the Syrian people. Conferences held with token representation that fails to reflect Syria’s true diversity are meaningless, lack legitimacy, and will not contribute to resolving the country’s crisis in any meaningful way."
