Residents of Tell Tamer have continued to block the M4 international road linking Tell Tamer and Aleppo for the third consecutive day, preventing traffic from passing through amid ongoing protests against the Syrian Energy Ministry’s decision to raise fuel prices.

Residents have continued their gathering on the road, reaffirming their demands against the increase in gasoline and diesel prices and calling for the decision to be reconsidered due to its direct impact on transportation costs, the prices of basic goods and the cost of living.

In this context, resident Serbest Hussein said they would continue their protest and keep the road closed, reaffirming their demands. “We will not reopen the road until our demands to lower fuel prices are met,” he said.

He added that they plan to set up a tent at the protest site and remain there until their demands are met, stressing the need to convey their message to all relevant authorities.

The continued road closure has affected transportation, particularly oil tanker traffic using the international road, as protesters reaffirm their intention to continue their action, calling for measures to ease the economic and living burdens on residents.
