Tomorrow, the city of Hasaka will witness a conference organized by the Health Body of the Democratic AANES Region, to discuss the health repercussions of the isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan.

The conference will be held at the Sardam Center in the city of Hasaka, under the slogan (Isolation is the greatest threat to human health and a violation of the most basic right to life), with the participation of 500 personalities, most of whom are doctors, human rights defenders, as well as representatives of civil society institutions in the region and abroad.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained for more than 24 years in the prison of Imrali Island in the Sea of Marmara, following an international conspiracy carried out by international and regional powers, in 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and was handed over to the Turkish occupation state on February 15 of the same year.

The last meeting with the leader was by his lawyers Rezan Sarija and Newroz Uysal on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Mohamed Ocalan for 5 minutes and then disconnected.

Lawyers for Al-Asr Office submit 2 requests each week to the prosecutor's office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali prison directorate. Their family also submit 2 applications each week, but they are rejected.
