Iranian authorities have sentenced Kurdish citizen Hatou Akrami to eight months in prison on charges of "collaborating with an opposition party in E. Kurdistan."

The Human Rights Organization in E. Kurdistan revealed that Iranian authorities arrested 32-year-old Hatou Akrami from the city of Boukan.

The organization reported that the Boukan court sentenced Hatou Akrami to eight months in prison for "collaborating with an opposition party in E. Kurdistan."

The organization noted that the prison sentence was replaced with a financial fine, and the case file was referred to the Revolutionary Court in Urmia for further investigation.

It is noted that Hatou Akrami was arrested and tortured by Iranian authorities during a raid on her home in the village of Inkaj in Boukan.

Hatou Akrami was previously detained and released after 25 days, following the payment of a financial fine of 6 billion Iranian tomans.
