Ain Issa City Council: dedicated to repairing damage caused by Turkish occupation attacks
The Ain Issa City Council reaffirmed its dedication to repairing all damage caused by the Turkish occupation attacks and commended the resilience and resistance of the people of the region in the attacks.
Ain Issa city and countryside in the Euphrates Canton, as well as other areas of north Syria, have been subjected to incessant shelling by Turkish occupation forces for more than three months, killing and injuring civilians and destroying service points, including drinking water outlets.
However, the City Council has made every effort through its technical workshops to reconstruct some of the damaged facilities to guarantee the continued provision of basic services to the populace.
In an interview with ANHA's agency, city council co-chair Ayat al-Issa revealed the extent of the damage sustained by critical facilities. She stated, "Our service facilities were systematically bombed by the Turkish occupation, to destabilize life in the area. This led to a complete breakdown of some of them, including Fatisa water station and the main water tank in Ain Issa."
She added, "As for the partially damaged facilities, our technical teams repaired them, despite limited capabilities and the risk to which they were exposed, such as direct targeting during maintenance missions. They include al-Hisha water station and the Ain Issa power station, which we repaired at the earliest opportunity in order to continue the provision of services to citizens."
She also revealed that the bombing led to the collapse of makeshift filtration tanks in towns like al-Khalidiya, al-Ulaymat, and more.
To try and solve the shortage of water, the City's Water Directorate and its rural area depend on wells distributed all over the west countryside, including al-Falihiya and Abu Sousa, as well as a continuous-running water tanker.
It should be noted that Water Directorate estimated to rehabilitate the water stations of al-Fatisa and al-Hisha at approximately $185,000, in addition to rehabilitation of the main water tank in Ain Issa at approximately $1,370.
Lastly, in the conclusion of her speech, Ayat al-Issa emphasized the determination of local authorities to continue with the repair of the current flaws in order to provide the services to all citizens. She appreciated the resilience of residents and their determination on their land, considering the frequent bombardment by Turkey that continues before the eyes of the world.
