The revolution of North and East Syria entered its 12th year with the sacrifices of 12,000 martyrs, who created with their sacrifices a revolution that is still steadfast in the face of all attacks.

The course of the revolution in North and East Syria was not strewn with roses, but it has been subjected to attacks from several sides, foremost of which is the fascist Turkish state and mercenary groups.

The revolution withstood these attacks thanks to the sacrifices of its martyrs from the various components and institutions produced by the revolution.

Khabat Deirk.. founder of the People's Protection Units YPG

Martyr Khabat Derik (Mahmoud Ramadan Mohammad), born in the village of Kasan in the countryside of Derik in 1962, joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in 1985, assumed command of several regions in the mountains of Kurdistan, returned to Rojava with the start of its revolution and laid the basic building block of the YPG, was martyred by a treacherous bullet on January 14, 2012, he became a symbol and a source of inspiration for thousands of fighters to join the ranks of the YPG.

Goli Salmo... The spark of Sheikh Maqsoud's uprising began with her martyrdom

Martyr Goli Salmo, born in the village of Qatma in the Shara district of Afrin canton in 1961. She became acquainted with the ideology of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the late eighties. In 1996 she struggled in the organizational field, and on January 15, 2005, she became an effective activist in the organization of the Star Union (currently the Kongra Star) in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo, in 2012 she was a member of the People's Assembly in the neighborhood, Goli sacrificed herself to save a journalist at the time, when the thugs affiliated with the Damascus government tried to kidnap him, Goli succumbed to her wounds in 2013, which prompted the people of the neighborhood to expel the government Damascus and the liberation of the neighborhood from the thugs, and in commemoration of her memory, the people of the neighborhood called her name on the street in which she was martyred.

Jakdar Amed.. the first martyr of the revolutionary youth movement

The martyr Jakdar Amed took it upon himself to organize and train the ranks of the youth. Azadi mercenaries of the Kurdish National Council kidnapped him on July 3, 2012, and brutally tortured him by dismembered his body with knives. He was martyred on July 4 after barbaric torture, and he is the first martyr. Within the revolutionary youth movement.

Abed Khalil.. the symbol of the revolution and its spark

The martyr Abed Khalil, born in Serêkaniyê in 1973, graduated from the Faculty of Media and Journalism from Damascus, married and has two sons, "Siban and Vian", worked as a teacher, joined the revolution and held the duties of the Speaker of the People's Assembly in the city of Serêkaniyê, at a time when he was preparing to organize a demonstration under the slogan "The Return". Go home" He was martyred on November 19, 2012, by a mercenary sniper's bullet, and the YPG formed a brigade bearing his name in memory of him.

Nabil Khoshaba Kulyana… the first Assyrian martyr

The martyr Nabil Khoshaba Kulyana, born in Tal Tamr in 1970, joined the ranks of the Assyrian Khabour Guard Council in 2012. He was martyred on May 23, 2013, while defending the district of Tal Tamr against the mercenaries of Jabhat al-Nusra (now Hayat Tahrir al-Sham), to be the first martyr quenches the land of his town with his blood to be model to all Assyrian youth to defend their land.

Martyr Berivan Nojan (Berivan Qalandar), born in Mobata district in Afrin in 1988, joined the Revolutionary Youth Movement in 2012, then the People's Protection Units (YXK), then the YPG, and after the founding of the YPJ she joined it, and rose to the rank of martyrdom on May 28, 2013. During the attack of Jabhat al-Nusra mercenaries on the villages of Sherawa.

The martyr Slava Afrin (Maryam Muhammad), born in the village of Alamdar, affiliated with Rajo district in Afrin canton, 1991. On December 1, 2011, she joined the ranks of the YPG. She was martyred during the clashes that took place in the village of Basala, affiliated with Sherawa district, on May 29, 2013.

Berivan and Slava were the first female fighters to be martyred in the July 19th Revolution, and they became symbols that paved the way for thousands of women to join the ranks of the YPJ.

Issa Hasso.. the political leader

Martyr Issa Hasso, born in the village of Al-Bura in the city of Qamishlo in 1954, married and has 3 daughters and 7 sons, including two martyrs (Farhad and Orhan), studied law at Beirut University, a politician who has struggled since 1982, was elected in 2004 as responsible for foreign public relations in the Democratic Union Party, arrested several times by the Ba'athist regime.

He was elected a member of the Presidential Court at the first People’s Assembly congress in Rojava in 2012, and became a member of the Foreign, National and Kurdistan Committee of the Supreme Kurdish Authority. In 2013 he became a member and official in the General Administration of Diplomatic Relations in Rojava. He was martyred on July 30, 2013, after booby-trapping mercenaries. His car, to crown his struggle with the agreement of many different political parties and forces under one umbrella.

Hassan Yousefia.. the first Arab martyr

Martyr Hassan Yusufiya, (Hassan Muhammad), born in the village of Yusufiya in Girê Legê district in 1989, joined the ranks of the People’s Protection Units YPG in 2013, and was martyred on July 31 of the same year in the village of Karhuk in the countryside of Gel Agha district, while he was responding to mercenary attacks Jabhet al-Nusra, the first Arab martyr to be martyred in the July 19th Revolution, and Hassan became a symbol for young men from the Arab component to defend their land.

Walat Deirk

Martyr Walat Deirk, he took upon himself the development of the cultural and artistic side in Rojava, and worked to open the Mohammad Sheikho Center for Culture and Art in the city of Qamishlo, and he is the first martyr in the march of culture and art, he was martyred on October 19, 2013, after the mercenaries of Jabhat al-Nusra detonated a booby-trapped vehicle In Tirbisipi district, where members of the Culture and Art Movement in Rojava, Osman Ossi, Shervan Qamishlo, were martyred, in memory of him and based on his suggestion, the Hunergeha Walat studio was established in July 2014.

Arin Kobani... She changed the course of the battle and internationalized the Kurdish cause globally

Martyr Arin Mirkan (Dilara King) was born in the village of Mirkan, affiliated with Mobata district in Afrin canton in 1992. She joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in 2007. She returned to Rojava with the start of her revolution to join the ranks of the YPJ. ISIS mercenaries advance, carried out a commando operation on the 5th of October 2014, and this operation was the beginning of the end of the mercenaries, and attarcted the world with the resistance shown by the Kurds in defending their land, after that women from different parts of the world went to participate in the Rojava revolution.

Mazloum Bakuk.. The martyr of truth

The martyr Mazloum Bakuk (Ahmed Saado), born in Qamishlo in 1992, studied until the university level, joined the ranks of the YPG in 2014, as a journalist documenting with his lens the moments of liberation, on September 28 of the same year, he rose as a martyr while he was performing his media duties in the Rabia region on the border Between Iraq and Rojava during the attack of ISIS mercenaries, Mazloum became a symbol of the Free Media Union

From Europe to Rojava.. Ivana Hoffman, the first international martyr

Martyr Avashin Tukushin (Ivana Hoffman) joined the Rojava Revolution in 2014. She is the daughter of a German mother and an African father, who grew up in Europe. Ivana was martyred on the 7th of March 2015 in the village of Tal Nasri of the Tal Tamr district, while defending it, and Ivana is considered the first international martyr in the July 19 Revolution.

The first Syriac martyr

Martyr Athru, (Thamer Jamil Bahdi), born in al-Hasakah in 1973, joined the ranks of the Syriac Military Council in 2014, and was martyred in Tal Hormuz in Tal Tamr district in 2015 during an attack by ISIS mercenaries, thus becoming the first Syriac martyr to be martyred in the Rojava Revolution.

Hevrin Khalaf.. the political leader

Martyr Hevrin Khalaf, a political leader, born in Dêrik 1984, became deputy of the Energy Authority in Jazira canton in 2014, and then co-chair of the Economic Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Then she moved to struggle in the political field and was elected to the duties of Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party after its formation on March 18, 2018. She was barbarically assassinated on October 12 by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in 2019.

Aqidah's mother

Martyr and mother Aqidah Ali Othman, born in Girê Legê in 1966, got acquainted with the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the 1980s. She fought for the Kurdish cause. She was persecuted by the Ba’athist regime’s apparatus and imprisoned twice during her struggle. With the outbreak of the revolution, she assumed administrative duties in Kongra Star, and later she was elected as an administrator in the reconciliation committee. She was martyred on October 13, 2019, by Turkish air strikes while on her way to the city of Serêkaniyê to support her people and fighters against the Turkish occupation army.
