Hercol exhibition for books… Shelir Publishing House

Shelir Publishing House participates in the exhibition held in Qamişlo with 130 books in order to increase the number of the readers. The manager of the house Revan Mahmoud pointed out that the visitors are often  interested in reading Kurdish history books.

The activities of the Martyr Hercol Exhibition that is held in Zana Hall in Qamişlo at its 4th day continue. 30,000 books have been offered by various publishing houses. Many houses reached many readers by their books, and Shelir Publishing House was one of them.

Shelir House was opened a year and half ago in Qamişlo city. It prints books in Arabic, Kurdish and Turkish, and 3 members work there. The house aims at developing reading level.

For the second year, the house has joined the books exhibition that is held on behalf of the Martyr Hercol. Last year, Shelir House participated with 30 books, while this year, it is participating with 130 various books; novels, poetry, stories, politics, literature, history, analysis, drama, music, Kurdish proverbs, valuation, criticism, children books Jinolojy (Women Science), dictionaries, the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan's synonyms. 

The manager of the house Revan Mahmoud said that the number of the readers is increasing through this fair during an interview held with ANHA agency.

We try to reach the books to the readers

Revan Mahmoud pointed out that they are trying as much as possible to reach the books to the readers, and he continued, "Because of the lack of publishing houses in Rojava, the books did not use to reach to the residents, but after the opening of Shiler Publishing House, the books have reached to the residents. We are trying as much as possible to reach the books to the people."

The house have printed 130 books so far. Books from abroad are sent to be printed in the house. The house prints the books for free.

Kurdish history books are often read

Revan Mahmoud pointed out that the culture of reading was limited in Rojava, and he said, "After the fair has been opened, the writers' products have come to show. The people in Rojava flocked to reading. Everyone read according to their affection, but the most books that are being read are the Kurdish history books."

Revan Mahmoud concluded his speech saying that the house aims at participating in the show next year with 200 books.
