The women who interested in collecting aromatic plants and flowers for sizzling and healing in al-Tabqa city and with the beginning of spring have begun to move to the countryside of al-Tabqa near the valleys to collect the useful plants like willow and other herbs.

AL-TABQA- The season of picking and gathering aromatic plants begins with the beginning of spring to the end of September, as it is said, or in other words, the druggists say so.

Locally known as Zihorat meaning aromatic plants and herbs, is collection of varieties of wild plants that are collected from several places in order to make drinks that people drink for the health benefit as well as enjoy drinking.

In this context, the druggists’ shops are spread in different neighborhoods, but concentrated in what is known as al-Mazhoul crossing in the city center.

Zihorat or aromatic plants collection is characterized by many health benefits, for example, chamomile, which is considered one of the plants that help in the treatment of inflammation and in the removal of headaches.

Women often collect, dry and mix aromatic plants before being released to the market.

Flowers are not only a drink of health benefits, it also an enjoyment of many people to drink, as the case of hot cinnamon, anise and their likes.

Zihorat spread in different areas in the countryside of al-Tabqa city.
