This was stated in a statement delivered today, Saturday, in Martyr Akid Square in the city of Kobani, attended by administrators and members of the Democratic Society Movement, by the co-chair of the Teachers’ Union, Narin Khalil Muslim. The statement reads:

"The Turkish occupation authorities continue to impose a policy of absolute isolation on the leader and thinker Abdullah Ocalan, having imposed new disciplinary sanctions against him and the other prisoners in Imrali for another three months, preventing meetings with the leader's lawyers and family, and withholding any information about him for 41 months. This contradicts Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The severe isolation imposed on the leader increases day by day, as it aims to deprive him of his right to hope. A detention perspective that does not recognize the right to hope contradicts international agreements, as it constitutes inhumane and degrading treatment.

The Turkish regime pursues policies against international laws and human rights, particularly concerning the rights of politicians and prisoners in its jails, in clear violation of all norms, laws, and international charters, as well as its own laws. A prime example is the absolute isolation of the leader and the recurring disciplinary sanctions.

Such arbitrary and unethical practices reflect a deep-seated hatred and the defeat of a fascist regime that seeks to break the will of the peoples through the figure of the leader, using special war tactics as a means of pressure, which are far removed from norms, standards, and ethics. Turkish fascism has become a threat to the future of countries in the Middle East and the entire world, while leader Abdullah Ocalan's philosophy and ideas have transcended the borders of Kurdistan, becoming one of the most important solutions that can be relied upon to solve the region's problems.

Remaining a mere spectator by human rights organizations and even all United Nations institutions, especially the Committee of the Council of Europe for the Prevention of Torture, which is responsible for taking necessary positions regarding violations and arbitrary measures against leader Ocalan and the tightening of isolation in Imrali, the committee has failed to fulfill its legal duties and responsibilities towards him. This has become evident in its position and behavior concerning the conspiracy in Imrali, as it reflects the international double standards—turning a blind eye and complicity with the Turkish invasion of S. Kurdistan and its ongoing violations in NE Syria, despite its public breaches of all international charters it has signed, while neglecting the violations committed by the fascist Turkish regime and failing to apply even its local laws concerning the isolation of leader Ocalan. This allows Turkey to continue this isolation and persist in its genocidal war against the Kurdish people without any accountability or deterrent.

We, in the Democratic Society Movement of the Euphrates Canton, which is one of the products of leader Abdullah Ocalan's thought, strongly condemn the detention and isolation of the leader and thinker and the renewal of disciplinary sanctions. We call on the free people of the world, human rights organizations, and all advocates of democratic and humanitarian values, as well as all humanitarian and rights organizations, to unite to pressure the Turkish government to cease its inhumane practices. We will carry out all the tasks that lie upon us for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we call for the escalation of the struggle until we achieve it.”
