Iranian authorities scheduled the second hearing for Kurdish political prisoner and human rights activist Warisha Moradi for August 4. However, the Tehran Revolutionary Court canceled the session despite the presence of her lawyer, according to reports from the Women’s News Agency (NUJINHA).

It is worth noting that Warisha Moradi had announced in messages to the public that she would not attend the second hearing in protest of the death sentences issued against activists Beshkan Azizi and Sharifa Mohammadi. She described the Iranian courts as unjust, stating: "I will not recognize such a court where no fair judgment is issued."

She also mentioned being subjected to severe pressures during her detention, including white torture, conflicting and deceitful scenarios, and coerced confessions. "I have defended myself many times under difficult interrogation conditions, but this time, my defense message is to the people and society, which is always vigilant, aware, and loving freedom. I want them to judge me and my activities according to social justice."

Warisha Moradi was arrested by security forces in Sana, East Kurdistan, on August 1, 2023. After two weeks of interrogation, she was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, where she faced pressure and torture to extract forced confessions. After five months, she was moved from the Ministry of Intelligence detention center to the women’s wing of Evin Prison.

Her first trial session was held on June 16 in Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, where she was charged with "rebellion." During this session, she was not allowed to defend herself, and Judge Abu al-Qasem Salvati did not permit her lawyer to defend her either.
