Lawsuit against Ahmad al-Sharaa and other Damascus authorities
The French-Alawite Collective, represented by lawyer Pedro Andujar, has filed a lawsuit in the French judiciary against Ahmad al-Sharaa and other Damascus officials on charges of "genocide and ethnic cleansing" against Syria's components.

On Friday, Radio France reported that the French-Alawite Alliance, which includes figures from various Syrian sects, filed a complaint before the International Criminal Court (ICC) targeting the head of the Damascus authority, Ahmad al-Sharaa, and other officials for "war crimes and crimes against humanity."
It is up to the ICC prosecutor to decide whether to pursue the file or close it, in light of the accusations against al-Sharaa, who came to power after the fall of Bashar al-Assad last December and the seizure of power in Damascus by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham al-Nusra.
The complaint, which was submitted to the ICC prosecutor, accuses "Ahmed al-Sharaa, Marhaf Abu Qusra, Assad al-Shibani, Anas Khattab and Mohammed al-Jassim of being responsible for bloody massacres in March and May that killed between 1,700 and 2,000 civilians, including members of religious and ethnic minorities" in the country.
Lina Biron, from the coalition's legal committee, said: "This complaint is in the name of the Syrian people. History will remember that he knew and did nothing, or worse, ordered what happened."
The coalition's lawyer, Pedro Andujar, explained that the accusations are supported by photographic evidence, including videos documenting the movements of military units before and after the massacres, citing hundreds of gigabytes of digital material as incriminating evidence.
The petitioners are demanding the immediate investigation of Al-Sharaa and others, within the framework of the crimes stipulated in the Rome Statute, whether as genocide or crimes against humanity, stressing that this step comes to prevent the repetition of such crimes and to send a clear message to anyone who thinks he is above the law.
