Ammunition depot explodes in Aleppo countryside, 4 injured in initial toll

An explosion inside an ammunition depot in the southern Aleppo countryside injured four civilians in an initial toll, in an incident that follows a series of similar explosions at sites where ammunition was found in Binnish, al-Dumayr and Deir ez-Zor.

A loud explosion was heard early this morning in the al-Hadaba area near the town of al-Eis in the southern Aleppo countryside.

Initial information indicated that four civilians were injured in the explosion.

According to Hawar News Agency correspondents, the explosion occurred inside an ammunition depot in the area, while the nature of the depot and the party to which the ammunition belonged remain unclear.

Civil Defense teams were deployed around the al-Eis area following the explosion and warned residents against approaching the site due to the possibility of additional hazards.

Initial information about the circumstances of the explosion and the extent of the resulting damage is still emerging. As of publication, no official statement had been issued identifying the cause of the explosion or the party responsible for the site.

The incident is not the first of its kind, as similar explosions had previously occurred in Binnish, al-Dumayr and Deir ez-Zor.
