The Language, Culture, and Education Committee of the KNK issued a public statement regarding the attacks by the occupying Turkish state on Kurdish values, which reads:

"The crimes of murder, genocide, and looting committed by the fascist state against the Kurds for years have not been enough for it. Therefore, it could not contain itself when faced with Kurdish youth’s dance, leading it to arrest them and imprison them. Kurdish texts, symbols, and signs on roads and streets have been removed by municipalities in N. Kurdistan. Previously, they removed martyrdom monuments with Kurdish inscriptions, destroyed the image of Ahmed Khani, and committed many other crimes.

If this continues and silence is maintained against the Kurdish nation, racist schemes will expand, and our elders will be punished for not mastering the Turkish language. This marks the beginning of a new wave of fascism and racism. The fascist Turkish state wants to eradicate the achievements of our century-long struggle because it knows that the Kurdish people are one of the ancient and indigenous nations of the Middle East, with a history spanning thousands of years. Therefore, it aims to destroy the memory, present, national system, culture, art, literature, and history of the Kurds through these racist practices.

Every nation lives through its language, literature, culture, and art. If these elements disappear, the nation will surely gradually fade away from history.

This fascist state has committed numerous massacres against us Kurds for over 100 years. However, the most dangerous massacre is the assimilation of the Kurdish people and non-Turkish peoples, and the eradication of their national and human values. To break and weaken racism, the entire Kurdish people, especially Kurdish institutions, intellectuals, and politicians, must show their national stance against these racist practices and behaviors and decorate every home, area, and place with culture, art, literature, folklore, and folk dances, thus strengthening the national spirit.”
