Insistence on Autonomous Administration and Resistance, slogan of ISIS attack' 10th anniversary

Today, the cities of NE Syria Region took place in various activities in the 10 anniversary of the attack of ISIS mercenaries on the Shengal district, and their massacres against the Yazidi community.

Hundreds of residents, including Yazidis in the NE Syria Region, representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, political parties, civil society institutions and Kurdish and Arab tribal elders participated in the activities.

Participants in the activities carried pictures of the martyrs of ISIS mercenaries massacres against the Yazidi community in the Shengal district, as well as the People's Defense Forces, the People's Protection Units and the Women's Protection Units fighting ISIS mercenaries, and their rescue of the Yazidis, and banners reading "Erdogan and ISIS are 2 sides of the same coin", "No to systematic genocide against the Yazidi people", "No to the Ottoman genocides against the Yazidis", and the flags of the Yazidi Union Syria.

The activities varied between mass vigils, marches, and lectures, organized in the cities of of the region: Derik, Girkê legê, Çil Agha, Tirbespıyê, Qamishlo, Amude, Tal Hamis, Manbij and Kobani.

They stressed the importance of canceling the 9 October agreement signed under Turkish auspices between the KDP and the Iraqi government, and recognizing the Autonomous Administration of the Shengal district.

The statements also noted the determination of the people of the NE Syria Region to stand with the Yazidi community in the Shengal district in the face of any efforts aimed at targeting it, as they did in 2024.
