2 women, girl Injured in Turkish occupation’s attack on Tal Rifaat
Two women and a girl from displaced Afrin families were injured in a Turkish occupation army attack targeting residential areas in the city of Tal Rifaat in Afrin and Shahba Canton.
The Afrin Human Rights Organization reported that on Thursday, September 5, the Turkish occupation army targeted Tal Rifaat and its surroundings in Afrin and Shahba Canton, which are crowded with displaced Afrin residents, using explosive DShK shells from their controlled areas in the occupied Azaz countryside. This attack resulted in the injury of two women and a minor girl, who were transferred to Tal Rifaat hospital and are still receiving treatment.
The injured are: Zainab Ali Musa (55 years old) from the town of Kafr Janna in the district of Sharran, Nora Mamed Hamdoush (16 years old) from the town of Kafr Janna in the district of Sharran, and Houriya Mohammed Waqfi (41 years old) from the village of Qastal Miqdad in the town of Bulbula.
The organization noted that this is not the first time that Tal Rifaat, densely populated with thousands of displaced Afrin residents and its original inhabitants, has been targeted. Since 2019, the area has been subjected to hundreds of shellings and dozens of drone strikes by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, leading to the martyrdom of children, women, elderly people, and numerous injuries, along with material damage to civilian property.
Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries continue to commit crimes in occupied Afrin, aiming to alter its demographics and displace the remaining original residents.
