The Secretary-General of the "Asaib al-Haq" movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, rejected the recent agreement between Iraq and Turkey, and stressed the need for the complete withdrawal of the Turkish occupation army from Iraqi territory.

This came during a reception, in his office in Baghdad, the representative of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Rida Konae, and his accompanying delegation, which included Turkey's new ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Younan, where he stressed the need to find real rules of trust between the two neighboring countries.

In a statement, al-Khazali clearly stated his rejection of the so-called Iraqi-Turkish agreement, which was recently signed as it does not achieve a radical solution to the outstanding issues between the 2 countries.

He stressed the need for the complete withdrawal of the Turkish occupation army from Iraq, and that all territories must be under the control of the Iraqi forces, so that they can impose sovereignty and security on them.

And stressed "the need to develop a comprehensive and serious road map to discuss the withdrawal of Turkish forces, as an essential step to build bridges of trust and achieve the sovereignty of Iraq."

Sheikh Qais al-Khazali also spoke to the Turkish delegation about "the real capabilities of the Iraqi forces in controlling the borders through the experiences that took place on the Syrian border after the victory over the terrorist ISIS groups," stressing that "these successful Iraqi experiences can be repeated on the border between the 2 countries, and in cooperation with the Turkish forces after their withdrawal from Iraq."
