A short while ago, the sixth conference of the Yazidi House in Jazera Canton kicked off at the “Mar Bella” restaurant in the city of Hasaka.

300 male and female delegates are participating in the conference, and what is noteworthy is the participation of the representatives of the Yazidi House in their costumes that express the Yazidi folklore and heritage, and the presence of delegations from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM, political parties, civil institutions, religious and social figures, notables of Arab clans.

The conference proceedings began with a minute of silence, then the joint presidency of the Yazidi House delivered an opening speech in Arabic by Laila Ibrahim and in Kurdish by Farouk Tozo.

Laila said: “We welcome you to this place, where we are holding our sixth conference for the Yazidi House. We express to you our happiness with your presence with us and we assure you that this participation raises our morale and consolidates the concept of brotherhood of peoples and the idea of a democratic nation.”

She added: “The Autonomous Administration managed to complete the social contract that gained the satisfaction of the people, so enemies intended to fight it in a hysterical manner that reached the point of bombing the infrastructure of our people.”

She stressed, "Holding our conference is a practical response to the enemies. We will stick to our pledge."

For his part, the co-chair of the Council of Martyrs' Families in the North and East Syria region, Rezan Kallo, hoped that the sixth conference of the Yazidi House would come out with important decisions to organize themselves further.

Kallo said that ISIS mercenaries tried to commit genocidal massacres in Şengal and Kobani, and its policies are similar to the criminality of the Turkish state, which is based on commitment massacres against Armenians, Syriacs, Kurds, Arabs, and Assyrians."

For his part, the Deputy Co-Presidency of the Executive Council in Jazera Canton, Muhammad Al-Barrak, praised the role of the Autonomous Administration in liberating and protecting Şengal from the dark forces supported by the Turkish occupation state, and in freeing Şengal women, most recently in the “Humanity and Security” operation. A short video will present the work and activities of the Yazidi House over the course of two years. The Yazidi House, which was founded in 2012, has organized itself and has three branches, the main one in the Amuda district. The conference continues by reading congratulatory messages submitted by political parties, women's organizations, and civil institutions operating in Syria.

The conference is scheduled to discuss the organizational status of the Yazidi House within two years, in addition to discussing the bylaws and making some changes and amendments to it after discussing and voting on it.  At the conclusion of its conference, the Yazidi House will elect a new joint presidency.
