Today, the elders and sheikhs of the Arab Bakkara tribe in Deir ez-Zor Canton issued a public statement regarding the attacks and shelling by the Damascus government forces in the Canton, expressing the tribe's stance.

The statement was read in the center of al-Kasrah city in western Deir ez-Zor by a prominent tribal figure, Sheikh Mamdouh al-a’ifan.

The statement condemned the massacres committed by the Damascus government forces and the so-called "National Defense" against civilians in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

It highlighted the Bakkara tribe's consistent support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and its opposition to any changes in the region's reality and to any interference in the area's affairs.

The statement confirmed the tribe's commitment to defending NE Syria against any attacks and maintaining the security and stability of the region through their participation in the SDF and security forces.

It emphasized that the Bakkara tribe stands united with the SDF against any external interference targeting their areas, affirming their full support for the SDF in protecting the region's security and stability.
