A parliamentarian confirmed the smuggling of about 320,000 barrels per day of oil in Southern Kurdistan, and said: "The imports of the provinces of Hawler, Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah do not enter the government's treasury."

Hama Salih, former member of parliament (Kurdistan Regional Government), said during a press statement that there are large-scale oil smuggling operations from S. Kurdistan, where the volume of smuggled oil is estimated at about 320,000 barrels per day.

Hama Salih pointed out that the S. Kurdistan authorities did not announce any financial imports for June, despite these large quantities of oil sold daily.

"The smuggled oil is sold through 'tankers' and does not enter the treasury of the regional government, but is taken over by the ruling parties," Salih said.

Oil revenues amount to $ 12 billion annually in S. Kurdistan, where the Southern areas of Kurdistan rich in underground wealth, in addition to their rich agricultural soil, but the people of Southern Kurdistan are deprived of these riches, as a result of the policies pursued by the Kurdistan Democratic Party against them, which turned S. Kurdistan into a family Region.
