The World Medical Association issued a written statement condemning the arrest of the human rights defender; Dr. Shabnam Kror Fincanji.
The president of the association Dr. Frank Ulrich Montgomery said “ arrest of the Doctor and the threats against members of the Turkish Medical Association are certainly unacceptable.”
Montgomery also said, "The World Medical Association joins those who wish to conduct an independent investigation into the news of the Turkish state's use of chemical gases against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). These constant attacks on members of the Turkish Medical Association are unfair."
