Dozens of women and members of the Zenobia Women's Gathering Council gathered in Raqqa canton to protest against the sentences and decisions against women, particularly the death sentences against activists in Iran, Bashkhan Azizi and Sharifa Mohammadi. They raised banners bearing phrases such as No to the enslavement of women... Yes to justice and equality and No to violence against women.

The protest, held in the Zenobia Women's Gathering Center Square in Raqqa, included a statement read by Faten al-Rajeh, a member of the reconciliation committee. The statement began with the issue of violence against women continues to attract great attention and occupies a significant space for various parties who strongly defend their human rights.

The statement continued, What we are witnessing today is the most severe type of violence perpetrated by an authoritarian, tyrannical male mentality that seeks to undermine women's will, marginalize their role, erase their existence, and deprive them of their legitimate rights. At a time when women have reached a crucial stage in their social and struggle history, despite the principle of gender equality, there are those who try to limit and restrict their role.

The statement strongly condemned the violence practiced by this male mentality, in addition to the violations committed against oppressed women. It stressed that these crimes require condemnation and denunciation from all segments of society and the world in order to eliminate them and limit their consequences.

The statement concluded by declaring that the death sentences issued against the two activists in Iran, Bakhshan Azizi and Sharifeh Mohammadi, constitute a clear violation of the right to life, a right guaranteed to all human beings.
