Al-Hajri in response to "Constitutional Declaration": It's illogical
The spiritual leader of the Druze community in Syria, Hikmat al-Hajri, considered the constitutional declaration issued by the Damascus authorities "illogical." He also pointed out that the national constants are the same, but when things began to reach the point of a lack of careful thought regarding the fate of this country, we must intervene.

The spiritual leader of the Druze community in Syria, Hikmat al-Hajri, described the constitutional declaration issued by the Damascus authorities today as "illogical."
In statements made in As-Suwayda, al-Hajri said, "Our national constants are the same, but when things began to reach the point of a lack of careful thought regarding the fate of this country, we must intervene."
Al-Hajri stressed that the Druze are "seekers of peace... We do not attack anyone, and no one attacks us." He added that they "support the unity of the land and people of Syria and the building of a democratic, constitutional state."
Al-Hajri accused unnamed parties of trying to "suggest that they have succeeded in creating internal strife at the sectarian and regional levels," adding, "But they will not be able to do so."
Al-Hajri's statements today come after the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria described the "Constitutional Declaration" as "not reflecting the diversity of Syrian society" and not fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for true democracy.
