Turkey is looking for a basis for accommodation with Damascus

Starting with the Syrian issue, and in this context, Al-Arab newspaper saw that the Turkish media and political interest in the recent developments in Deir ez-Zor reflects Turkey’s desire to find common ground between itself and Damascus to remove the latest differences between the two countries.

The newspaper saw that the Turkish statements clearly supporting the attacks launched on the Syrian Democratic Forces in Deir ez-Zor aim to show support for al-Assad in the Deir ez-Zor file, in the hope that this will facilitate negotiations on other issues, including the Erdogan-Assad meeting, the return of refugees, and the withdrawal of Turkish forces from Syrian territory, and the newspaper indicated that in exchange for a truce with Assad and an agreement on a joint confrontation with the Kurds, it is not ruled out that the Turkish president will sacrifice the Syrian factions loyal to his country.

Pressure on the people of Suwayda

Regarding the demonstrations in Suwayda, al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper indicated that Syrian Suwayda began to face pressure from the Damascus government, represented by a power outage in all of the city and its suburbs, in addition to the occurrence of a type of security tension in an attempt to spread terror and chaos among the people of the revolting city, and that Damascus is striving to break up the popular movement by means of Intelligence by spreading discord and panic.

A struggle for influence between Turkish mercenaries

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper, in its turn, touched on the clashes taking place between the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in northern Syria, and pointed to a renewed struggle for influence between the mercenaries of the so-called “National Army” and groups linked to “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” (formerly Jabhet al-Nusra), which is trying to expand to seize control of... Al-Hamran Crossing in order to obtain financial and military gains and enhance its presence in the northern Aleppo countryside.
