Under the sight of the world the Turkish occupation targeted Şengal, which resulted in the martyrdom of the child "Saleh Khidir Nassu", and his grandfather Khidir Nassu.

Last Wednesday, June 15, a Turkish occupation’s UAV bombed the People’s Assembly in Sinuni district and its market twice in a row in Şengal district in Başûr (southern Kurdistan), which led to martyrdom a child and his grandfather, in addition injury of 6 other people, including a Çira TV reporter Saleh Barjas and another child whose name was not known.

Avin Juma explained that the rights of women and children are protected within two basic categories of international human rights law, the first as civilians, and the second as a result of their special circumstances. However, the Turkish state violates these laws by targeting them during its attacks on Şengal.

The declaration issued by the United Nations General Assembly in 1974 regarding the protection of children and women during emergencies and armed conflict states that “it is prohibited to attack and bomb civilians, and these acts are condemned because they cause untold suffering, especially women and children.”

According to a report of the Human Rights Organization in the Jazira article 77 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that “children must be treated with respect and protection from any indecent image.

About the international silence regarding the Turkish war crimes, Evin said: "Personal interests rule over all world policies, as many countries have interests with the Turkish state, that is why they ignore the Turkish crimes against civilians in Şengal and NE Syria.

Avin explained that the countries of the world did not take any serious legal action about the crimes of the Turkish state, except imposing some economic sanctions, ignoring the military aspect, and said "the people won't remain silent about these crimes, and the Turkish state will be held accountable sooner or later."
