On 23 May Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan made threats against NES to carry out a military incursion followed y on 1 June that Tal Rifaat and Manbij would be targets for the Turkish military operation.

Syrian Democratic Forces, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and Syria's Democratic Council in a meeting held on 11 June to discuss Turkish threats said they are serious calling on all national and democratic powers in Syria to verify their rejection to the alleged Turkish military operation into NES. And the Arab League and he Gulf Countries to support Syrians in the face of terror and to reject the Turkish occupation of their countries as it is an annexation.

Deputy Co-chairmanship of the Syrian Democratic Council Ali Rahmoun told ANHA that '' this is not the very first time Turkey makes threats. It occupied Afrin on 18 March 2018 then Tal Abyad and Sere Kaniye in 2019. Any further incursion would have negative repercussions and consequences on all arenas especially as the region passes through a relative stability and there has been a deconfliction''.

Rahmoun affirmed that Turkey seeks to exploit the complicated regional and global developments that turned upside down the situation '' the most dangerous of which is the Russian war in Ukraine''.

Rahmoun noted any new Turkish occupation operation would lead to a new displacement '' Syrians are already displaced. More than half of the Syrian population are outside their homes. Any new Turkish incursion would create another displacement. When Afrin was occupied some 350, 000 left their homes and when Sere Kaniye and Tal Abyad were occupied 200- 250 thousands were displaced too. There would be another demographic change in the region and the dream to return home would vanish''.

Rahmoun affirmed that the ne Turkish incursion would abort the bids exerted to reach a political solution, ''notably the United Nations Res 2254 stipulates a political solution and to cease fire. We well know that Turkey, Iran and Russia are procrastinating, to apply such a resolution in both Sochi and Astana and eventually any Turkish incursion into the region would undermine the process''.

Rahmoun called on the international powers to stand up to the Turkish incursion not by making statements  or diplomatically rather they are supposed to stand up to such a threat by the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. We know many  ISIS commanders live under Turkish umbrella. The occupation by Turkey of any new area would create another enclave for a jihadist faction. This would have international repercussions not on Syria alone''.

Rahmoun said the defense of Syrian lands is a national duty upon all Syrians, '' the threat of Turkey of a new incursion is originally against the Syrian lands. Hence, the concerned powers to defend Syria are Syrian powers at the first of which the Syrian army.

At the end of his speech Ali Rahmoun said : '' SDF and SDC would do their utmost for the sake to stand up to the Turkish incursion, politically diplomatically and even militarily. The Arab League and those Arab countries that have strong ties with Turkey are asked to prevent such incursion to take place and that threats would destabilize the region and create a demographic change,, we contact counties to do their duties to stand up to the Turkish incursion''.
