General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the SDF, has released a statement to the public opinion regarding the December 16th night event, close to the Sihele region, on the border between Rojava and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The statement reads as follows:

''We have never attacked the Peshmergha Forces, and we have always respected the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Regional Government''.

There has always been mutual coordination between Syrian Democratic Forces and the Peshmergha Forces on the border between Basure and Rojava, that contributed to overcoming many obstacles and impediments that occur on border areas.

As to the event on December 16th, 2020, close to the border in the Sihele region between Rojava and Kurdistan Regional Government, that was never an attack on the Peshmergha Forces, and all circulation on media outlets are exaggerated statements, that was unreal, rather it was a fault in security coordination, there has never been an attack of the kind.

Syrian Democratic Forces have always respected the sovereignty and the military force of the Kurdistan Region, after Guerrilla Forces were returning to their posts, due to finishing duties in combating ISIS, they were blocked by Peshmergha Forces that led to short clashes on which our forces coordinated to stop the clash and for the Guerrilla Forces to arrive safely to their destination.

We, Syrian Democratic Forces, are all confidence that increasing coordination between the two sides on the border to avoid any misunderstandings in the future, for the benefit of our two sides and the stability in the region.
