Hussein said in a press conference held in Baghdad, "The government is unhappy with the decision to withdraw the US embassy, and it is the most illusion to think that victory is the withdrawal of the US embassy from Baghdad."

Hussein added, according to Alsumaria News, "The withdrawal of the Washington embassy will lead to other withdrawals, and the attacks on embassies are an attack on the Iraqi government, and the targeting of diplomatic missions is a direct targeting of Iraq."

The foreign minister noted that "the decision to withdraw the US embassy in principle from Baghdad does not harm Washington and Baghdad."

He referred to the arrest of some people linked to the attacks in Iraq, stressing that "the government has taken measures to protect diplomatic missions."

The administration of US President Donald Trump noted that it may close its diplomatic mission in Baghdad if it does not take measures to control the armed elements responsible for the recent barrage of attacks targeting US and other interests in Iraq, according to what Iraqi and American officials said last Monday.
