Tel-Koçer Municipality... Annual schemes to improve service reality

People's Municipality in Tel-Koçer district in Qamishlo canton is responsible for daily services and expansion of infrastructure networks, the district were exposed a lot of negligence since regime's days and massive destruction during mercenary gangs’ occupation to the district. Therefore, it is necessary to develop carefully planned annual schemes based on priorities, officials said.

Remove and maintain what has been destroyed

The bridges were destroyed by Islamic State's gangs (IS) trying to cut off the countryside from the city to obstruct advance of liberation forces; People and Women Protection Units(YPG,YPJ) during liberation campaigns, after liberating Tel-Koçer district and its countryside, the residents of the southern villages suffered a lot  of reaching the center of the district by destroying the main bridge in the north of the district . Accordingly, the municipality implemented the bridge project at a cost of 23 million S.P during its annual plan for the current year.

At the request of communes Tash Qarbi and Tash Sharki villages, People's Municipality has decided to repair the bridge near the two villages, which collapsed due to the floods. The maintenance included installation of ferries and large pipes to accommodate the floodwaters.

Strengthening infrastructure and expanding the sewage network

The maintenance and expansion of sewerage systems, both within the district center and the countryside, were also among the most important activities included in the annual plan. In this context, the municipality implemented a 1,375-meter extension of a sewage network at a cost of 15 million S.P in Martyr Demhat Commune in the center of the district. The project serves more than 140 houses. In addition to the maintenance of the old cesspools and replacing the pipes and dust removal in of Martyr Avin Commune

Total daily services contribute to enhancing the service reality

Municipal committees and departments also continue to provide their usual services on a daily basis, with cleaning workshops collecting garbage on a daily basis and transferring them to the landfill. The Control Committee also regulates the city market and controls violations, while the Consumer Protection Committee contributes to the prevention of monopoly and price fixing and control of expired materials.

The administrator in the technical section in People's Municipality in Tel –Koçer Abdul Saleh al-Mufleh confirmed that they have submitted to the municipal authorities a series of service projects that relate to the development of the service reality in the district and its countryside, including paving roads and maintenance, expansion of sewage networks and other projects submitted by communes to People's Municipality .
