Women regain their status, solve their own problems

Throughout history, women have played a leading role in the management and development of society, but autocratic regimes, outdated social customs and traditions have reduced the role of women in society and prevented them from exercising their right to society.

The women in al-Jazrat area were maltreated and denied their rights like other women in all areas which were dominated by Islamic State's gangs but after liberating the areas from (IS), women said that liberating their regions was a liberation from slavery and enslavement.

The Reconciliation Committee in the Women's House in al-Jazrat area, which was formed on 15 January 2018, is one of those institutions that have a leading role in solving the problems of women and society where hundreds of cases have been solved.

The Reconciliation Committee, which consists of five female members of the Women's House, who have experience in resolving the cases, has received 350 cases since its formation.

Most of the cases shown to the Committee were cases of inheritance, divorce, family and marital disputes and custody of children. The Committee was able to resolve 250 cases by mutual consent, while 50 cases were referred to the competent authorities such as the court for decision.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with member of  Reconciliation Committee in al-Jazrat area Sabah al-Saleh said that" they welcome women and work hard to resolve their issues. Sabah added "Our center is the destination of all the women in the area, and so despite the novelty of our committee, we have solved till now 250 of them.

In the remaining cases, Sabah al-Saleh reported that 50 cases were still under study, while 50 cases were referred to competent authorities for decision. Al-Salah added "Most of the cases referred to the court and the competent authorities are cases of violence against women, where the case file is transferred to court for legal action.
