Exhibition expresses Resistance of Age

AL-RAQQA

Under the slogan, “Afrin Is the Soul of the Culture of the Age” the Youth and Sports Committee has opened for the first time a plastic exhibition in which drawings exhibited the spirit of Resistance of the Age shown by the Afrin people in against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

The members of al-Raqqa Civil Council, al-Raqqa's Youth and Sports and dozens of parents attended the opening ceremony.

The opening began with cutting the tape by the family of the martyr Mahmoud Issa who was martyred by a mine explosion in al-Raqqa city.

The exhibition hall included 15 paintings, and each painting expresses a part of Afrin people’s resistance against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Who is Zahra al-Bedewi?

Zahra al-Bedewi was born in al-Raqqa, and she grew up within a simple family consisted of four girls and two young men. Since her birth, Zahra has been unable to speak or hear. She is now 31 years old.

With her left hand and with the financial and moral support provided by al-Raqqa Civil Council, Zahra managed to draw 15 paintings of various subjects, and each paint expresses a part of the resistance in Afrin.

After the paintings’ presentation would be completed, they are supposed to be taken to Berxwedan camp in al-Shahba canton as a moral support for Afrin people.
