Hîlala Zêrîn organizes art events supporting YPJ

The Hîlala Zêrîn Movement for Women’s Culture and Art is preparing to organize a series of artistic activities and events in several cities across Rojava in support of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ). These events come within the framework of the “We Are All YPJ” campaign launched by the Joint Platform of Women’s Movements and Organizations on April 26, 2026.

Since its launch, the campaign has included various activities, while many female figures and women’s movements in the Middle East and around the world have declared their support for the Women’s Protection Units.

In this context, the movement explained that it will participate in the campaign by organizing music concerts, theatrical performances, and photography exhibitions aimed at shedding light on the struggle of YPJ fighters and their role in confronting ISIS mercenaries, as well as highlighting the achievements women have made in North and East Syria.

According to the movement, musical concerts will be held in the cities of Hasakah, Qamishlo, Al-Darbasiyah, and Derik, while theater performances and photography exhibitions will take place in Qamishlo and Hasakah. Official dates for the events will be announced after Eid al-Adha.

A member of the coordination committee of the Hîlala Zêrîn Movement, Shirin Rashid, stated that the aim of these activities is to highlight the achievements of the Women’s Protection Units from an artistic and cultural perspective, noting that the role of the YPJ is not limited to the military field alone.

She said: “The Women’s Protection Units are our strength and our existence. Protecting these forces means protecting women, their achievements, and the revolution as well. If women cannot protect themselves, society will not be able to protect itself.”

Shirin Rashid concluded by stressing that women are demanding guarantees for their rights in the Syrian constitution in political, military, and social aspects, adding that these rights are legitimate and that women will continue their struggle.
